Cybersecurity technology has always been so interesting to me. As one can already tell, I am a double major criminal justice/sociology with a minor in psychology and this has helped me try to narrow down what I want to do in the future with my actual career. I do know that the idea of sitting at a computer my whole life isn’t something I have wanted to do because I am such a hands-on type of person but this hasn’t stopped me from trying to expand out on the possibilities of what I can do. The 4 majors that can be connected to cyber security are business/business management, medical, forensic science, and government. Business/business management can be viewed as a basic major but when you are looking to possibly start up your own or even take over someone else you have to open up the idea to having to protect yourself online as well as your company. Cybersecurity would help so much when some one completely forgets the small details that will help better protect themselves. Medical is such a large and growing field and I could definitely see someone within this field needing to learn how to protect their assets and themselves from the harm of the people above them as well as those they care for. Forensic science is a no brainer in the sense that all data has to be protected by someone and they themselves are always the best attribute for that. There are companies that are built to protect your data and information and this would be beneficial so they find themselves in a loss of important research and data. Government is huge in the sense that they are always needing that extra mode of protection for those who try to take you down. Government officials need to constantly protected from nearly everyone because even their addresses need to be protected so people can not come after them just because they don’t simply believe in what they are saying. Government officials could also include lawyers as well and they are always dealing with private cases that aren’t meant to be seen by the public along with very confidential information that they need to learn to better protect for themselves and their clients.
