I think that cyber technology creates a distances between the offenders of cyber crime and the victims. It honestly makes it so much harder to track someone down that is committing these crimes because they don’t usually lack the knowledge of how to clean up their tracks and try to leave nearly no record that they were there from the beginning. The real issue is that we see such a disconnect because so many people don’t know what they are signing up for when they “sell” their information through social media or businesses. In the end, the businesses make more of a profit off oaf the consumer selling their information that may not be deemed “important.” Criminals through the world of technology know what they are doing and how to work around a lot of the easy firewalls that our daily technology has. Most companies like Apple try to protect they consumers but after a certain point people try to find an easier route to everything we do. With these easier routes we start by giving out our phone numbers, emails, and simple things like our name which can all help people and the government track us. We make ourselves so vulnerable to the hackers that wait so patiently for us to fall for their tricks of the trade. Cyber policy needs to be continuously updating and evolving its network/organization to keep everything up to date. This organization lets people buy the networks protection and they try to gear us and our businesses to the proper protection. We can’t predict the future but if we stay on top of the new methods that hackers have found, we can better protect the consumers. These networks along with cyber policy need to keep up to date with all of the information that is ongoing. There will always be new ways that hackers find a way to go around the firewalls and everything else and the only way to “predict” that is by keeping our systems protected with the newest and greatest methods we can provide.
