Within the networks that are created, there is always room for improvement. Engineers create and design these networks to be top-notch most of the time, but no matter what there will always be something that needs to be updated to better improve the overall network. Engineers will begin by setting up better firewalls within their own network and strengthen those constantly. If a network isn’t constantly improving someone may find a way to work around all of the measures that are put in place to try to prevent hackers from gaining access to the information that is being protected. Engineers work on building systems and bridges with other networks to try to gain access on the clientele that is attempting to hack into multiple different systems. With continuous password updates, consistency with whom actually has access to the network, and working closely with who they protect to continue to better their network they can easily continue to try to build a better network that protects the consumer and themselves. The overlap between criminal justice and cybercrime is simply the connection that is created between criminals and the crime itself. Between stealing identities through unprotected websites and phishing people to steal their money, there is a wide range of what really helps criminals commit their crimes. Criminal justice is a such widespread idea that is built upon so many different branches and cybercrime being such a growing industry, that is in constant desire for criminologists, it will continue to take over as one of the larger branches of CJ. Within the class we really brought focus on how the lines of normal crime turn into cybercrime when explored thoroughly. The lines become so blurred because of the growing proportion of crimes that takes place through technology that need criminologists that specialize within cybercrime to help solve. Not everyone can and will be trained specifically on how to solve these and that’s why they have become specializations that pay so much more than the bottom-line criminal justice jobs.
