  1. Revenge:  revenge is a major motivator in cybercrime.

2. For Money: Cybercriminals are motivated by financial benefits, which gives their acts a reasonable side.

  1. Political: Ideological intentions constitute a severe threat, trying to disrupt systems for political reasons.
  2. Recognition: Hackers do want recognition, but it’s not as severe as their desire for vengeance or financial gain.
  3. Entertainment: For some, cybercrime is a source of entertainment and a source of adrenaline.
  4. Multiple Reasons: Cybercrimes are rarely predictable because of the mixed agendas involved.
  5. Boredom: boredom appears to be a less compelling reason for cyber acts, without substantial evidence.
