How has cybersecurity created opportunities for workplace defiance?

Technology has helped the world go extremely far, but it has also done some damage. The downside of the advanced technology we have now is the increase in cyber criminals and cyber-attacks. Some of these attacks could happen at our workplaces, which would be called work defiance. These defiance’s can be done by a coworker or even someone in a higher position. One example of work defiance is a co-worker getting fired and before he leaves wanting to take revenge on the company. Before they leave, they might try to steal sensitive company data like company secrets or customer information. They could then take this information and sell it to a rival company or even places like the dark web. This would make the company seem less trustworthy with valuable information and may cause them to lose business. Another example of workplace defiance is employees not shutting down a system correctly. When working with technology you should always take strict precautions when shutting down a system. If a system is not shut down properly it could leave room for cyber-attack or cyber criminals to steal information. When shutting a system down you should always do it properly to not risk leaving the company open for others to steal valuable information. These new advances in technology will always cause a problem. No matter how advanced technology becomes people will always try to steal sensitive information. They may try to gain this information by themselves or with insider help. This is also why companies should invest in a good cybersecurity program so that they can protect themselves from potentially threatening people within their business or outsiders who want to hurt their business. Work defiance can happen easily at any moment, so it is better to protect yourself and your business from the beginning.
