How do engineers make cyber networks safer?

There are many majors that are offered to her that tie well with cybersecurity, one of those includes Engineering. One way that engineers do well with cyber security is because they can help find and patch weak spots within a system or program. So that means if a person has a cybersecurity system, then they could have a friend who is an engineer look at it to make sure that they are offering a good system to themselves or a company. When these two works together they can provide a safe internet environment for a lot of people and companies. They may also detect where the source of a security breech is. They may be able to show them where the attacks are coming from and produce solutions that will help fix and patch the weak spots in a system. Engineers also rely on technology to help them in their everyday lives so they may build some of these systems and find their weak point while also looking for ways to improve these systems.  

2. What is the overlap between criminal justice and cybercrime? How does this overlap relate to the other disciplines discussed in this class?

Technology has become a part of everyone’s day-to-day lives whether they realize it or not. With the problem of cybersecurity breeches and cyber-attacks arise every day. Criminal justice can also play a huge role in these cybersecurity breeches and cybercrime. One example of this would be the cyber criminals called the black hats. They are a group that has a main goal of stealing confidential information from companies or individual people. Another example of this is stealing information from individuals through apps like email. There are laws that protect people even online and in an instance like this someone could also be prosecuted or even serve jail time. This ties into criminal justice because if these people are found then they can be legally tried for the crimes of stealing this personal information. This one example shows how anything you do that is illegal online can have real life consequences.
