1. Describe four ethical issues that arise when storing electronic information about individuals.
One ethical issue with cybersecurity is the privacy issue. This is where a company or business can keep up with the information of an individual or customer, but the information is sometimes shared. This is an issue with privacy because the company may keep these records on a device that can easily be infiltrated and given to an unauthorized person. Security breaches are another ethical issue in cybersecurity. This is a threat to an individual’s privacy and when confidential information is easily accessible to others without the individual knowing. The third ethical issue is the implementation of a system. This is an issue because the way that some businesses implement this system can cause their patients to worry about the safety of their information. This might occur if some of the workers do not know how to properly use the system. Another ethical issue that can arise is the worry about data inaccuracy. Sometimes data can be lost during a transfer, then this can cause people to worry about whether the individual’s data is accurate or not.
2. Compare cybersecurity risks in the U.S. and another country.
The US and China are similar and many ways, one of the biggest ways is that they both have a high rate of cyber-crimes. China is the second country with the highest rate of these crimes, but the US still has a larger amount than them. It seems that both countries are getting more advanced technology and devices each day. However, many of these innovative technologies cannot stop or keep up with the amount of cybercrime that happens every day. Both countries should try to figure out ways to put a stop to this leak in data and keep the information of individuals or companies safe. The technology industry should be moving just as fast as the cybersecurity industry so that we have fewer incidences of data breaches.
