Curriculum Development

All developed and revised courses and programs below are for Mt. San Jacinto College.

Course Development

English 094: I was a part of the workgroup that developed this support course which pairs with English 101. Aligning with CA AB 705 mandates to remove barriers to student success and increase access to transfer level English courses, English 094 allows students to opt into this .5 lab unit course to gain valuable face-to-face time with the instructor, providing said students additional support without adding extra semesters of coursework.

Journalism 110: Journalism 110 , Introduction to Reporting and Newswriting, serves as a core component of MSJC’s new Journalism Associate Degree for Transfer (AD-T). I helped develop the course as a curriculum committee representative and English faculty.

Program Development

Journalism AD-T: With a group of colleagues from multiple disciplines, I collaborated to develop this new program.

Puente Certificate of Achievement: I collaborated with the Puente coordination Team at MSJC to develop a midpoint benchmark certificate that serves Puente and general population students alike. The certificate integrate general education requirements that fulfill transfer needs while keeping students on track to their degrees and exposing them to a breadth of Latinx literary and cultural practices and Latinx history.
