CAP

The California Acceleration Project (CAP) is a state-wide organization that helps develop communities of practice within the California Community College system to reduce obstacles to student success.

As a honey-badger (CAP’s mascot), I have helped develop and implement MSJC’s co-requisite support class for traditional college-level composition that allows students access into transfer level English while reducing exist points.

My involvement in CAP has undeniably shaped my andragogy, as it enlightened me to the systemic barriers that hinder student success and has encouraged me to be an advocate for support systems that work for those I to strive serve: students!

To meet this goal, I attend regular CAP events, including workshops and conferences, and I take part in an ongoing CAP community of practice at MSJC.
