Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs can be intertwined with technology. For my experience, social media has helped me meet my physiological need with rest. Getting off of work, sometimes I need time to decompress, and scrolling through social media helps. With my safety needs, I do my best to stay informed with my device and practice better online habits with that. For my sense of belonging, I tend to look for small groups of people with similar interests. Rarely, I look for having my esteem needs met through my occasional comments on a post, hoping it will get attention. Lastly, with self actualization, I have come to terms with the fact that I’d like to put my art online.
