I feel as if the media definitely plays a big role in how Cybersecurity is portrayed. When there are moments that we are watching a hacker, there seems to be a lot of buzzwords or code on the screen that may not necessarily make sense given the scenario, and also the time taken in it may not match what would be expected in real life. Sometimes scenes will be accurate with what is shown during hacking scenes, and other times it’ll be half accurate, half unrealistic. Overall, I believe the media portrays Cybersecurity as something that is kind of easy to bypass, while also neglecting the victim’s reaction to securing the vulnerability. Some companies may have a quicker reaction time to securing their system again, or have multiple systems set up in order to protect valuable data, and I don’t think that’s properly represented in media.
