This course provided an overview of current networking concepts and technology with the objectives of 1) describing fundamental concepts, technologies, components, and issues related to communications and data networks, 2) describing basic network architecture, and 3) applying knowledge of network technologies to design and construct a working network.

Week one was an overview of the foundational aspects for cybersecurity and networking

Week two focused more on networking: an overview of networking, how networking and cybersecurity work together, the small-scale hardware used, and how to build a basic network.

Assignment #1: Designing and Building a Simple Network

Assignment details: In this assignment, you will design a network that will support 8 desktop PC users, one server, and one printer using these 5 port switches

Feedback from the assignment was that another switch may be needed to connect the printer and the server instead of connecting the printer directly to the server.
