The cybersecurity analyst role isn’t just about tech skills it’s also connected to social dynamics and human behaviors. The job at its core, involves protecting people and organizations from online threats defending against the darker sides of humanity like cybercrime, which includes phishing, and intrusion. There’s a strong emphasis on communication and teamwork too, especially when working together on incident responses or training others to recognize vulnerabilities. Social skills are needed in the need to network and build relationships, not only to get a job but also to stay updated on new threats. As the field is driven by evolving threats, we can increase learning from others and making cybersecurity a surprisingly social and community-driven career despite some of the stereotypes it might have in people’s minds.
