My name is James Brown, and I am a soon-to-be graduate of
Old Dominion University with a degree in
Cybersecurity. During my time at ODU, I have built a strong
foundation in information security, network defense, and risk management,
while also gaining hands-on experience through academic projects and internships.

In Summer 2025, I completed an internship at
Intellidyne LLC as a Tier 1 IT Help Desk Technician, where I
provided technical support to government users. My responsibilities included
troubleshooting Microsoft 365, configuring VPNs, updating BIOS firmware,
creating and managing accounts in Active Directory, and delivering remote
support through ServiceNow. This role allowed me to strengthen both my
technical and communication skills, while also gaining exposure to working in
a government environment under clearance requirements.

I am CompTIA Security+ CE certified and have experience with
penetration testing, vulnerability assessment, and network monitoring tools
such as Wireshark and Nmap. My professional background also includes
hospitality, sales, and project management, which have honed my ability to
work with diverse teams and adapt to fast-paced environments.

I am passionate about protecting digital systems, solving complex technical
problems, and continuously learning to stay ahead of emerging cybersecurity
threats. My career goal is to become an Information Security Analyst,
contributing to the protection of critical systems and sensitive data.
