We should approach the development of cyber-policy and infrastructure given the “short arm” of predictive knowledge by educating ourselves on the advantages and disadvantages of developing them. We should also take into accounts of the risks of developing them pose. Researching cyber policy and infrastructure is important in the approach of development especially if we are given the “short arm” of predictive knowledge. Without educating ourselves, we would put ourselves at a huge disadvantage because hackers and other bad actors will educate themselves to exploit the two for their own benefit. By educating ourselves, we could learn of them and use it for our own benefit. Developing cyber policies will help employees and users stay safe on the internet and keep their devices protected while learning about cyber infrastructure will allow them to have a better understanding of the system and even implement codes and programs to make it more secure and improve its efficiency.
Cyber technology impacts interactions between offenders and victims by the offender to commit a crime solely on the internet. This could cause victims to never know who the offender is and may not even know that they were victims until a while after the crime occurred. The offender may acquire a lot of information about the victim, while the victim may have little to no information about the offender. It is extremely risky because many users don’t know how to keep their system safe or feel like keeping it safe is too much of a hassle, so they don’t bother to do it. This is a great risk to users and businesses who believe they do not need protection software and don’t educate themselves. Malware, phishing, and hacking are all things bad actors use to sabotage innocent users who don’t know much about computers and technology and exploits them to their own advantage and benefit. It is especially dangerous because sometimes users might not even find out, or worse, they might not even have found out at all, such as their password being compromised and account being stolen. Like one they’ve never used in a long time, they decide to use it later on, and they have trouble logging in or see a recent activity or occurrence that they know they did not do.
