How does your major relate to cybersecurity technology?

My major, criminal justice relates to cybersecurity technology many ways. In every field pertaining to this major you will need to access very confidential information, give confidential information, and many more important things involving the usage of technology moving information around and obtaining it is very important that sites are secured and able to prevent any type of hacking.

We learn in this major about different fields pertaining to this major for example, police and lawyers. We learned about what police do and what information they obtain and put into their systems. This information is very important to them and their work because they’re working under the law and in situations, they are to put this information into a database to be seen by others in the same field. The security of these databases is so important because in order to protect others and themselves this information is not accessible to the public and that is why cybersecurity is very important especially for this field. With lawyers, they work with people whether defending or prosecuting and they have to access secure information as well.

As far as cybersecurity relating to my major currently, we have assignments that we work on where we have to go on government sites to read about information and talk about it. Cybersecurity is very important because this is official information and cannot be changed by someone and to have security protecting this information keeping it factual and correct is important for us.
