The Cybersecurity team I will be discussing is Computer Security Management which their role is very vital in the world of Cybersecurity. As mentioned in the in NIST 800-12 article the Cybersecurity team oversees the organization computer systems to ensuring systems are in compliance, creating policies, monitoring information technology to prevent data breaches within an organization. They also develop and implement protocols to safeguard sensitive information. Their role is to protect the organizations data. If an organization doesn’t have an individual in that serves as a computer security management, the agency may potentially face unauthorized access to sensitive data, could potentially face legal consequences for failing to protect sensitive information. Ability to protect the company from internal and external threats. As we all may have workplace trainings for cybersecurity to keep employees educated of cyber threats.
It is important to have computer security management part of the team have the ability to identify, migrating and respond effectively to cyber threats against the agency. The computer security management are able to set policies specially to the business needs. It is ideal for every company to have an individual with this job description they also educate the employees which puts them in a position to become well educated on potential cyber threats they may be faced with to protect sensitive documents. If an agency is affected a computer security management learn how to handle security incidents.
So, after reading NIST 800 I would say it is highly recommended that every agency has a computer security management to protect their company assets.
