Movies and social media definitely influence the outside world and give many stereotypes about cybersecurity. I think a lot of times people think hackers are always wearing all black and in dark rooms with a computer, although this may be true in some cases it is not always the case. Cybersecurity threats can come from anyone, whether it is intentional or not. A lot of times cybersecurity threats come from within organizations rather than from the outside of them. Another stereotype I see about cybersecurity is people always think they need all kinds of crazy software to stay protected, but often times it is the human firewall that will keep you safe. Movies always make it seem like cybersecurity threats are people in vans and at secret headquarters, but a lot of times there are tons of scams on everyday social media and walking down the street ready to grab information without anyone knowing a thing.
