It can be filled with malware and harmful files that can infect your computer. Searching terms such as how to make harmful weapons, illegal pornography, and how to hack are a serious time and can land you jail time. It doesn’t matter if you are just curious, or actually are looking for the terms you search. A crime is a crime and you must know the serious consequences of these searches. This can land you jail time and it is taken very serious in the United States court system. Faking your identity online is also a crime. Faking your age to get onto adult sites, or “catfishing” someone are forms of faking your identity online. It may be hard to track down individuals that commit this crime but when they are caught they are punished. Last but not least we have cyber bullying and trolling. Cyber bullying has become a lot more popular was we have become a society more dialed into social media. Cyber bullying can be posting hateful comments, posting unwanted or embarrassing photos without consent, and spreading lies about people on the internet. This can also be dangerous to the victims mental health.
