What an incredible way to transport your students from the classroom (or for many this year home classroom) to somewhere entirely different. I would love to use the Volcanoes Around the World Google Expedition in an Earth Science class discussing how the earth’s geography has changed through volcanic activity all over the world or even as a creative writing prompt for students about what life as a volcano might be like.
I am also dying to witness the Great Migration on the African plains and loved this brief tour of it! Can you spot the giraffes?
Finally this google expedition of Bikini Atoll tells the history of the U.S. testing nuclear weapons in 1943 “for the good of mankind”. It shows the site of the tests and the shipwreck that resulted from the testing. I think the pictures speak for themselves!
These are great tours! I found myself completely pulled into the volcanoes one. I love how the expeditions provide the pop ups that provide more information. It would be a great way for students to learn about volcanoes or even do some compare/contrast activities.
