Task 1: Agency Evaluation

Task 2 Evaluation Questions: DRAFT

The agency that I am evaluating is the Henry-Martinsville Department of Social Services, specifically the Family Preservation/In-Home unit.

1. What kind of cases do you receive?

2. How do you work with children that experience behavioral outbursts?

3. How often do you have to drug screen clients?

4. If a client is non-compliant with mandatory services, what do you do?

5. Is your clientele more teenagers or adolescents?

6. How long is the case life for you cases

7. How often do you have to attend court hearings to testify?

Task 3: Annotated Bibliography

Task 5: Research Plan

Task 6:  Protocol/Observations

During my research, I plan to observe our workers and how they interact with the clients.  This is important because in order for the client to fully accept all of the concepts of the program, they have to feel like they can trust the one that is pitching the program to them or the one that is carrying out the program.  I also plan to observe how my coworkers interact with other coworkers and their superior.  This is important because in order for our programs to work, each of us should have the same ideals for the outcome of the program.  If all of us work together for a joint outcome and it is deemed a success, we can use the success story in the community for extra funding opportunities throughout our area.

Some questions that I may ask the client are:

Do you feel that you are getting what you need from the program?  What else would you like to see?

Do you feel that you are getting what you need from your worker?  What else do you feel you need?

Questions for the workers are:

What is your goal for the outcome after the client completes the program?

How does your goal compare to the goals of your coworkers?

What can we learn from this program?

How can we promote it in the community?

How do we track its success?

Task 7: Timeline

Task 8: Findings
