I am interested in Cybersecurity Technology because I simply am interested in Cybersecurity as a whole.  Cybersecurity is an interesting topic to me, that I plan on pursuing and taking with me into my future. The main aspect that got me into it was most likely the coding, as I liked to do or learn about programming related things within my free time. I was originally interested in doing interactive media or animation when I started with my college application process, but was then told about Cybersecurity as a possible avenue, along with an internship I was able to do over the summer before I started college. I was accepted into the internship and ended up mostly enjoying what I was doing, but I still did not precisely figure out what I wanted to do in my career yet. Thus, I still am taking Cybersecurity, but looking into a lot of different general aspects so I can narrow down my interests and choose exactly what I want to do.

Speaking of general aspects, Cybersecurity is quite massive, with a lot of components that lead into other areas. The first of which(and likely most obvious) is computer science. Probably the most common degree that revolves around computers, computer science teaches about computer systems, artificial intelligence, algorithms, programming, and more. Another one in relation would be Sociology, which is one I have actually chosen as one of my classes. This revolves around the way people think, process, function and develop, but in a general sense whereas in Cybersecurity(and criminology) focuses on how cybercriminals think and function. A third degree that could be in relation is psychology, where this degree could also allow you to peer into the mind of a cybercriminal, analyzing patterns of attacks to potentially predict future targets and enhance effectiveness. Lastly, one surprising degree to fit in would be mathematics, as good analytical skills are needed in order to function in Cybersecurity.
