Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs and Technology

Physiological needs: Ensuring my phone is properly charged before leaving the house. This gives me peace knowing my phone is charged and I can use it the way I need to without worrying about it dying while I’m out.
Safety needs: I secure my digital devices and only trusted people have the pins or passwords to access them. This lessens the chances of my devices being accessed by unauthorized persons.
Belongingness and love needs: I use social my phone and social media to stay in contact with family and friends that I do not get to see in person every day. This helps me stay connected and get and provide support when needed.
Esteem needs: I use apps on my phone to track my workout progress. Sometimes If I did really well, I might share it with others on social media.
Self-actualization: I use technology to teach me things I want to learn about. For example, I wanted to get better at drawing/painting eyes. I was able to watch several YouTube tutorials on this subject and then practice what I had learned.
