Review the NICE Workforce Framework. Are there certain areas that you would want to focus your career on? Explain which areas would appeal the most to you and which would appeal the least.
Out of all of the areas presented in the NICE Workforce Framework, there are a few that catch my eye. For instance, the investigatory category as well as the protecting and defending category, as well as the analyzing category.
The ones that appeal the most to me, to be more specific, would be Threat Analysis, Digital Forensics, and Incident Response. The reasons these one appeal the most to me is because, simply put, they seem the most engaging. Of course, they also seem to be the most difficult.
Threat Analysis is something I found extremely intriguing due to my criminology class that I took a few semesters ago. Understand human behavior, criminals, and why and when they will commit a crime drew my attention immediately. It’s difficult because of the complexity of the human mind, but being able to identify and access the capabilities of potential cyber criminals is an interest.
Digital Forensics, to be very honest, is the closest I’ll get to actual forensics (which I’ve grown an interest in since I was young, but blood is not something I care to be around). I find this field to be crucial to capturing cyber-criminals, especially those that commit acts that are harmful to the population (old and young).
Incident Response is a role that I would love to be a part of because, same as the above reason, I’ve always held a interest in criminal investigations. Out of all three of the options I’ve provided, it really boils down to just personal interest.
I find a majority of the options to be interesting. They would all be fields that I don’t have an issue working in. But if I have to chose, I find Customer Service and Technical Support and Data Administration to be the least interesting. I’ve worked most of my life in Customer Service or support positions and I’ve grown tired of handling these jobs.
