For example, a fake banking website such as &#8220;www.chase-securelogin.com&#8221; may look similar to the legitimate \u201c www.chase.com \u201c. Adding the securelogin in the URL is just a trick to ask users for their credentials. Similarly, several fake shopping websites, like \u201cwww. amaz0n-deals. com&#8221;, turn letters into numbers to make it look like &#8220;www.amazon.com\u201d, luring shoppers with prices so low they would never be possible, intending to swipe their payment details. Another example is &#8220;www. faceb00k-help.com\u201d, a fake social media support page that uses numbers for letters to mimic \u201cwww.facebook.com&#8221;, which deceives users into revealing their login credentials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0   Many of these fake websites can be easily identifiable with red flags including a suspicious URL, a poorly designed website with grammatical and factual errors, a lack\u2002of HTTPS security, unrealistic offers, and fake contact information. They also employ deceptive domain names by appending extra words or switching letters and numbers in a way that resembles a trusted website. They also may not be encrypted, making data entry a risk. For their safety, users should always confirm URLs, verify\u2002security certificates, and avoid clicking on links in unsolicited messages.
