The NICE, The National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education, Framework is a reference framework for overcoming challenges that limit cybersecurity career development. I am interested in Cybersecurity Policy and Planning, as well as Incident Response careers. The Policy and Planning area interests me as it focuses on policies and guidelines that are being established to factor security into ever-evolving technological advancements. The opportunity to analyze risks, formulate policies, and partner with stakeholders to secure critical infrastructure is intellectually stimulating and purposeful. On the other hand, Incident Response interests me because it is dynamic and fast-paced. Real-time detection, analysis, and mitigation of threats is a compelling and impactful aspect of the role. These positions also require quick and analytical thinking and problem-solving skills under duress, which I find very rewarding and stimulating. These areas encompass the balance of proactive strategy and reactive action and align with my interests and career aspirations.
