Phishing is when a cyber attacker attempts to acquire different ways to steal information needed to steal money from the user. The United States if targeted the most by these type of attacks. More than 60% of attacks worldwide are toward the US and the average loss of a person who is effected by this is $1,800. Business’s average is a lot higher, sitting at $20,070. Nigeria, South Africa, Ghana and the United states leads the world in advance fee fraud schemes. A lot of these cyber attacks are all about money. An attack that doesn’t have to do with the stealing of money is ransom related schemes. It is used more that the other internet fraud attacks.
