As a network technician I have to go to showcases where they preview new products and try to sell us new systems for our organization. Many of these showcases often come to our office to give us a demo on the products. During these demonstrations we are told to write notes and often have meetings later about what we just witnessed in the session. During these meetings we are tasked with how we would be able to integrate these products into our organization’s ecosystem. This takes an extensive dive into our current systems seeing what is compatible and what isn\u2019t compatible. Many of our systems are already meshed together which makes this a lot easier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After the product is successfully purchased we are tasked with fitting the product into our network and other services under a testing domain. It has access to all of our systems but isn\u2019t available to the public. During this time we can see what the problems are and how to strengthen the integrity of the product running on our network. This gives us time to learn how to use and troubleshoot the product. Copies of default settings and optimal settings are made into documents in order to preserve the correct knowledge of how to run the product. After all testing is done we release the product into the public and carefully monitor its performance over the next few weeks. This has taught me how to properly source products by reviewing what we need and if it can fit in our systems.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
