I have never given this question much thought until I started taking this course. I have realized cybersecurity is a much bigger field of study that affects more people than I ever realized. As a Psychology major, I am interested in the psychology aspect of this topic. I want to understand how this technology can potentially affect people if they are cyber bullied, or their identity gets stolen, etc. As well as how it will affect their life after the fact. I am also interested in the flip side of this as well which would be how cybersecurity technology can benefit a person and impact their day to day lives. I know that the recent technology that is available to me has helped protect my personal information and alert me if something seems off in an email or on a website. This course is going to force me to think outside the box in the way of putting myself in another person’s shoes whether they are a victim, a bystander, or the person responsible for doing something they should not have. Understanding this information can be vital in how I treat my patients years down the road or how I would approach things. I am also interested in this topic for myself. Like I mentioned before, I never realized how large this field has grown in the past 10 years and how much we implement it into our day to day life. It is important for me to learn and understand this topic so that I am able to take advantage to the technology available to me. I am in no way a “computer wiz” but having basic understandings on this type of technology will allow me to make smarter decisions when it comes to online shopping, clicking links that are sent to me in an email or texting, and even make more educated business decisions down the line.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
