Three ways they have made the world safer are they provide GPS and cameras, keep us updated on important news, and allows us to communicate remotely. By providing GPS, computers help humans arrive at their destination without being lost and put in any danger from being lost. They also helped create security cameras to monitor the surrounding area and ensure the safety of others. Computers allow us to stay informed of important events and situations such as a tornado and whether we should evacuate or not. They allow people to be notified efficiently because of how quick and widespread the information can be distributed. Even now amid the coronavirus, computers allow us to learn virtually and communicate with friends and family without being physically there. This helps keep us safe from contracting the coronavirus especially those who are vulnerable to it.

While there are advantages to having computers there are also disadvantages such as scams, cyberbullying, and leakage of personal information. Hackers and other bad actors can use computers for their own benefit. They could use scams to infect a user’s computer with malware and cause them to pay a fee to regain access to their important information. Cyber bullying is a major issue where users of the internet are bullied or harassed electronically. This can really hurt the users’ self esteem and they could be coerced into doing things they would never do on their own volition. Computers can be hacked and with them being hacked the personal information of the user can be leaked. If their information gets leaked on the internet than many other users will know their personal information and it would be impossible to eradicate the leakage of their information because it will always be stored somewhere.

Engineers make cyber networks safer by designing computer systems that are able to deal with any disruptions such as cyber attacks by remaining continuity. Engineers in the cybersecurity field analyze computer networks, ensures that they are secure, and check if they are any security issues that could come up in the future. They test and screen security software and monitor networks and systems for any intrusions or security breaches. This allows them to be able to resolve any causes of security threats before they happen. Some of the duties these engineers have are developing security standards and practices, creating new ways to solve security issues, providing input on security enhancements, performs penetration testing, educating and making other employees on the importance of cyber networks and keeping them secure, leading incident response activities, and investigating how breaches happen if they do occur. These are all ways engineers in the cybersecurity field make cyber networks safer, by diligently monitoring networks and making sure all the needs are met to keep them secure.

Computers have made the world safer in many ways.
