I liked learning more about how the intron has different conserved sites and the process of connecting to the branch point and making the lariat. I can\u2019t imagine the man who taught me how to train horses (and use a lariat) ever talking about mRNA splicing. Likewise, I couldn\u2019t imagine scientists ever using horse-related terminology to describe a biochemical process. Ken Bain talks about the benefits of having multiple interests and being constantly curious, and how that can help you solve problems by associating \u201cunrelated\u201d ideas. I think this is a good example of that, even if it is a surface level connection.
