Journal Summary Three
Journal Summary Three – editing-skills-checklist-for-mapping-1-2
I believe that since I started this class I have grown as a writer. My writing has gotten better because I know what needs to go in my paper. I improved on letting it be known what the point is in my paper. I’m also good at providing details and support on a subject. I would say that I am definitely more confident in my writing skills. At first I knew that I probably wouldn’t get a good grade on a paper because I knew my mechanical errors would mess me up. Now with writing I feel better about it, although I may still have a few errors in my work. This class most certainly helped me with the transition to the college setting. I have a better understanding of writing and how to structure my sentences. I may not be the best at writing, but I’m not as bad as I was before I started the class. The ePortfolio was a big help in keeping track of my growth. It gave me an opportunity to actually sit back and reflect on myself. The editing skills checklist was the biggest help to me with keeping track of the progress I was making as a writer. I liked that I had to basically rate myself and identify what my strengths and weaknesses were. With each essay I wrote I noticed that as time went on my writing skills had gotten a lot stronger than were they were at first. Essay number four was my best grade yet. I have really grown a lot as a writer, although I still can use some work on sentence structures. The journal summaries were a good way to keep up with what I felt I was getting better at in the class. It made me actually think about what I was doing and reflect on my work. If the ePortfolio had not been required I wouldn’t have even thought about my growth as a writer.
