Being in Univ 150 helped me to developed better writing skills. Univ 150 helped me to establish better strategies to set up my essays. For example, having four major details about your essay can help you to have an idea of what you want to write about. This brainstorming strategy help me to develop a better understanding on how to set up my essay, and to elaborate more on my four major points. The class also helped me to not use “you” in the essays because it is informal. I learned how not to use “you” in my essays by using impersonal pronouns, such as “oneself,” “students,” or “themselves.” At first I thought this class was a wasted of time, but it really did help me to become better at writing then I was before. Univ 150 also taught me how to look over my paper for mistakes by reading from the bottom up.
