1. Why are you interested in cybersecurity technology?

To be honest, the main reason why I chose to take this course is because it was an I.T. elective requirement for a Communications major. I am also not very educated when it comes to the topic of cybersecurity. However, the more I learn about it, the deeper my understanding and appreciation for cybersecurity goes. In this digital age we live in, I could not think of a more important field of study than cybersecurity. In today’s age, we have the ability to obtain any kind of information we may need/want, at any time, with just the touch of our fingers. While this newfound power has already proven to change the trajectory of the lives of the human race forever, in many positive ways, it has also proven to be extremely dangerous. Not only is having the power to obtain any information we want considerably dangerous, storing our personal information on the internet is also very scary. Think about how much of your own personal information you have just on your computer. Now consider your phone as well. From the use of social media to inserting your bank account information online in order to shop, there is no limit to the amount of personal information most of us have on display on our technological devices. And that doesn’t even begin to scratch the surface on the true amount of personal information that our phones really do hold. This is why cybersecurity is so important and it will only become more imperative to know and understand as time goes on. Cybersecurity is essential to the safety and protection of our personal information on the internet. While I may know very little about this field, as of now, I am eager to learn more and hopefully be able to share what I learn with others, in order to promote safety and security in a growing technologically advanced society.
