Hello, welcome to my ePortfolio. My name is Sherman Thomas Jacobs Jr. I am a senior attending Old Dominion University, pursuing a B.S. in Cybersecurity. Some things about me are that I tend to stay active playing sports and working out. I am a huge football guy, but I support all sports teams in my area, as I am a Washington fan due to growing up in the DMV. I work a lot of odd jobs as my schedule needs to be flexible, so I have done things from yard work, like pulling weeds and cutting grass. To power wash driveways and houses, I also work a lot with food in any way you can think of as a delivery driver, server, or cook. I have more recently been helping out with the cooking in a food truck and got a part-time job as a dispatcher for a delivery service. I was very fortunate to have a stable support system as I spent a lot of time with my family, and I have been blessed to be born into a two-parent household with 4 other siblings, technically 5 with me being the second youngest. Unfortunately, God needed my two oldest brothers a little early, as one left us recently in October of 2023, maybe not by name, but played the role of one of my big brothers as we grew closer the older I got. Now my eldest brother left us back in March of 2015 due to his fight with cancer even though I believed he kicked butt your body can not fight forever. Over the last 5 years, my mom has been enduring the same battles as today, though she’s on top and still being a mom the whole way through. My dad and I are very close as he guides me through this thing called life, and I know he’s always got my back. I am not so close with my second-oldest brother, but family is family, and he has blessed me with 5 wonder nieces and nephews who I get to take his place. My older sister is the muscle of the group as she’s the stubborn middle child who takes care of everyone. Then finally, my baby sister, who is the princess of the family and quite the scholar with a black belt. I am big on my relationships, even with all my cousins, aunts, and uncles; it’s a bond that you should take advantage of. I am a big people person, I can talk all day and ask anyone friends or family. I like to keep people close and show them who I am, as tomorrow is not promised. Now I have learned a lot from my time spent at Old Dominion University, one of the most important lessons though, is to stay consistent and never give up. Enough about my personal life now. Again, welcome to this ePortfolio, which is a small collection of some of my work and skills, all showcased in one place. Thank you for visiting, and I hope you enjoy!
