There are many benefits to developing cybersecurity programs within businesses. Just taking it at face value it gives an extra layer of protection to not only the business but also to the employees and customers as well. Although just like everything else nothing comes for free they are things that have to be accounted for financially to make sure you select the correct setup that works best for your business budget. Cybersecurity helps protect your business in many different ways one being simply protecting your networks from hackers and other intruders trying to access your company’s information. Working hand in hand with that it also protects your employee’s and customer’s information as well as their information is all in the companies networks. Other things alongside inputting cybersecurity for extra protection there are things that are also encouraged along with the process. Things like proper and strong password use and other safe practices like multi-factor authentication can be enforced to help keep private information private. Another thing I believe to be very effective when inputting a program is teaching and making employees aware of different types of attacks specifically phishing and email attacks that they could run into multiple times a day being properly trained would also help with protecting the business. These things work alongside the program making it that much harder for unauthorized users to access things. With the introduction of cyber security programs to your business comes certain setup and maintenance costs as well. Depending on your budget will affect the main setup you will decide to go with but with every set up there will be maintenance and tutorial sessions that need to be set in place for proper upkeep and use of the systems. It is very important to make sure the program is being set up and used correctly. Then properly updating the system to make sure it is up to date. Many things go into maintaining and properly running a cybersecurity program, but I believe all the pros and safety it provides outweigh the cost.
