It was surprising to hear not only did he not pursue digital forensics there weren’t even courses you either had to fall into the field or be put into it. He said that his dad played a role in him finding the career although he doesn’t tell him. Also, he was an accountant, and ironically the practice he was at just so happened to be looking for an it person and he had a particular interest and just took off with it. Not only did the opportunity present itself the first national digital forensics startup was happening in Australia looking for a brand new team and he was really in the right place at the right time. It really shows how diverse the cybersecurity world is with how even someone from a completely different field like accounting can have success in the cyber industry.
