Teaching Philosophy

My teaching philosophy is built on two primary elements: cultivating an environment for students to learn and grow personally, professionally, and academically and providing students with the tools and resources they need to succeed. Education is power, and it is my goal to enable my students to prosper during their time in my care and far beyond graduation. As an advocate, it is my duty to ensure that anyone seeking to pursue their educational dreams is able to do so. Similarly, it is my honor as an educator to touch the lives of each student and to be the professor that I needed during my studies. Due to my academic experience as an undergraduate and graduate student as well as my professional experience in student affairs, I understand the needs of students from a variety of levels and a variety of backgrounds, and I am dedicated to enhancing the student experience one step at a time each and every day.
