\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The overlap between criminal justice and cybercrime in the modern world is as abundant as ever. Technology has changed the landscape of criminality and how it is defined and perceived. In today’s world, Technology is used in almost every aspect of our daily lives. We use technology everywhere we go thanks to smartphones, iPads and apple watches. This new lifestyle and culture of prominent technology use had inevitably led to an increase in cyber crime. Technology has opened new gateways and opportunities for criminals that have never been seen before. These new and abundant types of crimes created by the invention of new technology obviously overlap with our criminal justice system. Criminologists are forced to adapt and reeducate themselves on the law and how it relates to technology. They have to challenge themselves and learn how to prosecute cyber crimes inside the criminal justice system and the courts.\u00a0 This overlap between cyber crime and criminal justice is so new that in many cases it makes it extremely difficult to prosecute. This is mainly due to lack of education resources, and man power to investigate these cyber crimes. Failing to successfully prosecute cyber criminals puts the world in great danger of being exploited by these cyber criminals. Criminologists and lawyers around the world are still learning the most effective ways to combat cyber crime and how to lawfully prosecute it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
