            It\u2019s the middle of August and my final days are counting down. Officially I will end on August 27th<\/sup>. This is my first internship I have ever gotten and if I get any others they\u2019ll have a hard time competing with General Electric.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            Work that has been completed up to this point is one of our data interfaces I was in charge of finally got connection to our new toolkit. I have also almost completed full automation for one of the Level 1 applications I am working on. My debate team and I also completed our debate; we were blown out of the water by our opposition. However, for the prompt we got, I think we did well. My team\u2019s prompt was \u201cwhy should GE prioritize LEAN (LEAN is a process to increase supply chain efficiency at GE) over security for open-source code?\u201d. How do you argue against security? Even the judges said they felt bad for us because we had such a difficult prompt. This was also difficult for me personally since I am majoring in cybersecurity, and I work in information security at GE. My teammates both work in supply chain so they found it a bit easier than I did to come up with arguments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            These past few days I\u2019ve been working on my PowerPoint slide for my final presentation. I found my midterm a bit rough, but I think this final presentation will be a breeze. The same audience from the midterm presentation will be there (i.e., my boss, other interns and their bosses, those bosses\u2019 boss, etc.). I won\u2019t have any completed projects to present, and I voiced my concern to some of the intern reps and they said not to worry because this stuff happens all the time. My project I was supposed to present on the 18th<\/sup> ended up being pushed back to November so unfortunately, no completed projects for me. I\u2019m hoping to at least get a few more Level 1 applications automated or close to being automated before I leave. It all depends on the application teams and if they are willing to work with me\/how busy they are.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
