Keeping cyber world safe from cyber-attacks and from motivated hackers are on-going improvements for cybersecurity engineers. Protecting their personal data and their clients are huge tasks to maintain. Cyber engineers have tools, processes, and training to help them and end-users to keep cyber networking safer. These are the few tools that engineers use for cyber networks to be safe. Firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, VPN, access control, anti-virus, and anti-malware software, email security, and mobile security.

Firewalls security is a monitoring system that allows or denies incoming and outgoing network traffic based on the security rules that are set on the network. Next is intrusion prevention system, this system is actively blocking attacks by monitoring and scanning continuously. IPS is also not just blocking suspicious activities, but it can also track the progress of the malicious files and malware through the network to prevent the risk of cyber-attack.

 In addition, engineers also use VPN or Virtual Private Network which encrypts all the data communication from one endpoint to another usually over the internet. Another tool that engineers uses is anti-virus and anti-malware software. Malicious software or as we know it is Malware, this includes viruses, Trojans, ransomware, and spyware. When a computer is attacked by malware, this will spread throughout the network and get to the computer that is connected to that network, although the malware will stay dormant for a few days. There is anti-malware software that can detect the malware upon entry, but it can also track the infected files to find anomalies, remove the virus, and fix it before it continues to spread.

Access control, this is another way to prevent intrusion to the network. All users in the network should not have the same access as the other since some attacks happen internally within an organization. Users can either have individual policies or they can be in a group policy. Giving limited access to a user is one way to protect confidential files and access to changing anything to the network.

Emails are the entry way of malware. Attackers are improving their tactics and use social engineering to build legitimate and credible looking websites or email to phish information from the user. Email security application helps to block all incoming attacks and it can control all outbound messages to avoid any data loss.

Lastly is mobile device security, there is an increase of mobile vices and application attacks. Some organization allow the use of mobile devices although engineers will put all these devices to a separate network, in case there is a device that is being attack or has virus, this will not spread to all private network though out the organization.

To sum up, cybersecurity engineers are essential to preserving the integrity and safety of cyber networks. They employ a range of techniques and instruments to safeguard private client data, individual user information, and network security. These tools include email security, mobile device security, firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, virtual private networks (VPNs), access control, and anti-virus and anti-malware software. Cybersecurity engineers can successfully stop cyberattacks and motivate hackers from jeopardizing the security of their networks by utilizing these technologies and procedures. Furthermore, to guarantee the ongoing safety and security of cyber networks, ongoing training and enhancement of these instruments and procedures are necessary.
