Before cyber, technology wasn’t as big as it is now. However, in the past, a crime was committed in person face to face. One example would be robbery, robbery in the past would be one person physically taking a valuable possession from another person. This would often make the victim afraid physically and could make them scared to walk around alone anymore or even afraid to step out of their own car at night. However, in today’s world, especially this century and society, most crime is committed online or on social media. For example, if a hacker decided to gain all your information from your computer, you would have no idea until the crime has been done. This would still be considered robbery even though it happened through the cyber world and not face to face. Offenders are able to target people so quickly through the internet or use the internet to find the personal information of people they may be trying to stalk or harass in real life.

Cyber technology has changed the way people are victimized by crime in today’s world. A lot of people never realize it until it’s too late because they don’t have much experience with technology or how well to use their computer system or how to keep it safe online from hackers. One way to improve cybersecurity is to teach people, so they know what to look for in order to not fall victim to cybercrime next time. Or if they do, they can recognize it fast and put a stop to it. Cybercrime will continue to become more and more popular as time goes on and even though they aren’t facing to face crimes they can be just as damaging and scary as face-to-face crimes and make people feel like they have lost their sense of privacy. A lot of people tend to be afraid to add some of their personal information into their computer system or any type of technology system because they are scared.
