Deviance is described as the fact or state of departing from usual or accepted standards. especially in social behavior. Workplace deviance can occur easily in the cyber technology field since the deviance could happen through the web rather than face to face which would be harder to detect. An example of work deviance can be if a person gets fired from their job for some odd reason and basically lash out and give out information from the company the public shouldn’t be informed about like private stuff only employers are allowed to know. Them doing this is out of anger and just want to lash out because they’ve been fired from the job and want to put the company in a bad place and make them look bad. Another example that can show workplace deviance is the employer not shutting down their computer system the correct way and not login out of their information and that can be a risk of leaving the companies information out and having it open to the public. Which is a huge risk of being hacked or the information being leaked to cybercriminals.

That can be a huge problem for the company because their whole system and businesses could go down if they end up getting hacked for some reason. Something that is a very huge thing when it comes to cyber crimes is that it is much harder to find the attacker since they’re behind a screen and not physically at the place they are doing the crime. Workplace deviance will always occur in all types of work but cyber technology makes it easier to execute. Cyber technology has made it easier for damage to be done, but of course, it would take twice as long for the criminal to get caught in action.
