The reason why I ‘am reviewing the article is to better understand how these vulnerabilities affect the USA’s ability to prosecute cybercrimes and learn how these vulnerabilities are being made in the first place.
These cyber vulnerabilities within our society could be a threat to US County Governments security. The most common cyber-attack ransomware is very dangerous because it prevents the person or victim from granting access According to Harry, C., Sivan-Sevilla, I., & McDermott, M. (2025) that in November 2020, the Baltimore Country School network was a malicious attack by ransomware which negatively affects former employees from varying their medical payments (p.2). This statement explains why attacks like ransomware should be taken seriously and to help the victims who were affected by the attack. The topic describes that no matter how good someone is in cybersecurity there are bound errors to occur along the way. This aligns with social science principles in a way because of the comprehension of people’s use of technology and how action can create vulnerabilities in cyber security. I think that the ramifications of vulnerabilities being made through the process could be prevented.

After reviewing the article, I think it is mostly about how the use of artificial intelligence in cybercrime can be used in a way to trick national governments of their identities. This makes it harder for governments around the world to catch cybercriminals who have successfully hidden their identities from the crimes that they’ve committed. According to Choi, S., Dearden, T., & Parti, K. (2024), they explain that AI has the potential to revolutionize today’s world technology to better readiness, but the negative downside of this is that it can be used for criminal activities like performing social engineering attacks, forming deepfakes, and other malicious intents that are very dangerous. This type of action requires the full attention of cyber professionals to understand how these cybercriminals could exploit AI to meet their malevolent desires. The utilization of artificial intelligence in cybercrime by taking advantage of human behavior and social frameworks, which undermines the social science principles such as psychology, economics, anthropology, sociology, and political science. To address the damaging impacts that Artificial Intelligence in Cybercrime could have on public trust and governance.
What makes artificial intelligence in cybercrime connect deeply to social science principles is that it’s connected to the core problems that are a plea to the system. It doesn’t matter how good the AI is, any hacker can exploit that weakness and try to gain the system to better fit their needs. Psychology is one of the social science principles that talk about how human behavior drives up cybercrime, such as deepfakes, phishing, and others. Like for example, artificial intelligence can analyze social media to a degree that it will exploit people’s activities or trigger intense emotions. Showing signs of social engineering that have been studied in psychology. On a daily basis, people are affected by these tactics that have really destroyed their lives in a destructive way. For this reason, artificial intelligence should always be regulated with stricter restrictions that’ll prevent it from becoming a threat to the world’s security.
To conclude, the use of artificial intelligence in cybercrime can be considered dangerous because the amount of harm that it can cause to innocent people’s reputations is criminal. This, however, destroys trust within people, creates financial ruin, and creates systemic disruption that affects everyone. What the cybercriminals have done It’s important to note that these dynamics should make people in the cybersecurity profession do everything in their power to revamp the AI core and prevent cybercriminals from hacking into the AI. This is understanding will strengthen the goal to improve AI systems worldwide.
