I see this field as an essential aspect of national security for the United States. With its focus on understanding and planning around behaviors that might arise from social, political, or cultural scenarios, its uses to assist with safety are endless. Due to the barrier of entry in the the cyber realm getting lower and lower criminals about to quickly change the landscape waring parties can quickly have things ending poorly. If the field is left unattended the impacts to the future of war as we know it and the types of warfare we haven’t seen can quickly get out of hand.
