The NICE workforce framework has a plethora of career specialties that I find appealing to work in. Previous positions I’ve held and found enjoyable align with the Oversight and Governance work role category, specifically systems security management. It would be very rewarding to push the organization’s cybersecurity program to be safer and more secure while being able to maintain the functionality of all systems through appropriately implemented policies, practices, and controls.
Although all work roles are quite interesting, I would think Infrastructure support would be the least appealing career path to take for me. I do understand the necessity of the role, though getting down and dirty routing/snaking cables in overhead spaces, and between rooms to then punch down new RJ-45 connections for termination is a job I’d like to leave to my younger self.
