The computer science major relates to cybersecurity because both majors deal with the software of computers and may be made to protect your information from others. They both have a lot of problem-solving aspects to them. In computer science they use their minds to build computers, build websites, and mine data where cyber security they use their minds to prevent global threats.

There is also the information technology major that is so similar to computer science but you will focus more on the technical and communication skills. IT majors tend to mostly focus on how the computer communicates with the user and the actual computer itself. IT and cybersecurity are related because they both deal with security. IT protects data and cybersecurity also protects data from the unwanted.

Criminal justice is the study of criminal behavior and what the science is behind the crimes that were committed. In criminal justice you are trying to figure out the biological, psychological, and social causes to the crime. This is related to cybersecurity because you have to pay attention to the social causes and psychological causes to the crimes meaning if these are on the computer, we have to be able to understand all of the computer technicalities and what could have been caused by a cyber threat.

At Old Dominion University they offer many different academic programs. There is a major for almost everyone. While I am majoring in cybersecurity there are other majors that relate to cyber security. There is computer science, information technology, criminal justice, and computer engineering. Out of those four only one of them does not relate to computers exactly. These majors are all offered at ODU and you may take some of the same classes with other majors due to the fact that more of the classes deal with computers or with justice.
