Living in a foreign country can be such a rich experience but it can also be confusing. In particular the topic of the 1994 genocide is a bit taboo to bring up as an outsider so reading some first-hand accounts gives you a little better picture of what people went through 25 years ago. Side note: a cafe in our neighborhood uses QR codes in lieu of menus. You simply sit down scan the QR code at your table and then the menu pops up on your smart phone. This means one less thing (a menu) to pass back and forth from person to person and worry about sanitizing after one person has touched it before it’s handed to another. Plus it’s pretty clever, and they can change the menu simply by changing the site online instead of reprinting.
