You always want to believe that your computer is safe. You never want to think about if someone can hack in and steal all of your information, but we live in a scary world and that is always a possibility. So how exactly can you tell that your computer is safe? I did some research and it said you will know that your computer is safe if you use strong passwords, update your browser plug-ins, have a secure firewall, and use anti-spyware and anti-virus ware.

The first way to keep your computer safe is to make sure you do all browser updates. When you don’t update your old browser, you are liable to be attacked because only the latest version protects you.

The next thing is to have a strong password in place. This does not just mean your computer, it also means your phone, tablet, email, and anything else that requires a password. When you create a strong password it protects your personal information like your full name, address, social security, and other life-threatening information. You should never tell anyone your password, reuse old passwords, write down passwords, or use the same password for every site or account. What you should do is update your access code frequently, make a complex password that you can remember, and use multi-factor authentication.

A secure firewall is also important because it will stop virus attacks, and spyware, promote privacy, and stop hacking. This is important because when you get hit with spyware, virus attacks, and hacking, your information can be stolen which puts you at real risk. Not only will they know your information, but now your life is in danger.

Last but not least, using anti-spyware and anti-virus software can help keep your computer safe. This software is important because your information is kept safe, and you get to keep your safety. You won’t be susceptible to virus attacks or hacking that may take place otherwise.
