Technology has had a drastic impact on our daily lives. It makes living life easier. Instead of going to the store, we can get our groceries delivered to our doorstep. The healthcare system was impacted even more. Instead of medical records being paper and having to do everything by hand, it is now electronic and easier than ever to keep track of information. This change positively affected the world, but there is some risk when making things electronic. Four ethical issues that arise when storing electronic information about individuals are privacy, security, integrity, and system implementation.

The first ethical issue is privacy. The information stored about individuals needs to be kept safe from the outside and privacy/ confidentiality is important. Only certain individuals should be able to see and get access to this information. Security is also important because cyberattacks can occur and the information can be stolen. Having security measures in place will prevent attacks and prevent information from leaking. Integrity is important because it ensures the accuracy of the stored information. Ensuring that the information is accurate and has not been altered is important. The last ethical issue is security implementation. This goes hand in hand with security because implementing cyber security strategies is important to keep information safe.
